Adult Naturalisation Application, Scotland

Get in touch

Most adults who have migrated to the UK get citizenship by applying to ‘naturalise’.

If you are aged 18 or older and have either permanent residence in the UK or have been granted indefinite leave to remain, or have settled status you may want to consider taking the significant step of becoming a British citizen.

The adult naturalisation application process offers you the opportunity to acquire citizenship and enjoy the full rights and privileges that come with it. You can apply online or else using a paper form.

However, it’s essential to understand that the application process involves several factors that the Home Office will carefully consider when processing your application. From your residency status to good character your commitment to the UK, each aspect plays a crucial role in determining your eligibility for British citizenship. You also need to prove you understand English, Welsh or Scottish Gaelic before you can apply for citizenship.

Our experienced immigration solicitors can guide you through every step of the adult naturalisation process, providing expert advice and assistance to help ensure your application meets all requirements and stands the best chance of success.
