Emily joined the pre-litigation department of Jones Whyte in February 2022. Emily’s main role is First Response. In this role, she is responsible for being the initial point of contact for new clients and referrals of business to the department.
On a daily basis, Emily will call all new clients to assist and take a detailed statement as to the circumstances of their accident and any heads of claim they are seeking to claim. Thereafter Emily sets up their file and allocates a handler to deal with the matter. Emily is also responsible for ensuring we have the correct third-party details to allow the claim to be intimated to the third-party insurers.
Emily will draft the Pre-Action Protocol form and submit it to the third-party insurers to start the claim process in line with the Compulsory Pre-Action Protocol. Throughout the claim process, Emily will ensure the source of business/referrer is kept up to date with progress or any issues that arise with the claim.
