Cameron spent five years at the University of Strathclyde, with four years on the LLB programme and one for the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. He worked originally for a few months as a Legal Assistant within Jones Whyte before finishing University and commencing the new role of Trainee Solicitor.
Cameron spent the first year of his two-year traineeship in the Bereavement department within our Private Client branch and more specifically dealing with Trust administration and Scottish estates after death. He has dealt with a wide range of Trusts and estates from property-only to those with various different, often high-value assets.
“The most rewarding part of my role in the Bereavement department is receiving the acknowledgement that our clients have experienced an empathetic, streamlined and efficient service following a very difficult period in their life.”
Cameron went on to embrace a new challenge in the second year of his traineeship, moving to the Clinical Negligence Team within Litigation, assisting in a variety of clinical negligence matters, many complex in nature, including matters of medical, cosmetic and dental negligence. Cameron since qualified as a solicitor practicing in the Clinical Negligence department and now runs a high volume of legal cases of great variety and varying degree of complexity.
“I have embraced the move to the Clinical Negligence and the shift in the nature of the work. Due to the forensic detail required in many cases, I very much enjoy my role and take pride in securing positive results for clients and family members of those who have sadly passed, after what may have been a very difficult period of feeling let down by the healthcare profession.”
