Jones Whyte Wins Firm of the Year

Scotland’s fastest growing law firm, Jones Whyte, has been named Law Firm of the Year 2021 at the Scottish Legal Awards.

The prestigious awards seek to recognise and reward excellence in Scottish law and is a major accomplishment for the young firm, founded less than a decade ago, making them the youngest recipient of this award in the events 18 year history.

Founding Partners Greg Whyte & Ross Jones collected the award on behalf of the firm at the ceremony in Glasgow on Thursday 23rd September.

This award adds to what has been a challenging year for the firm which has included the acquisition of McClure Solicitors (one of Scotland’s oldest law firms), through which over 100 jobs were saved, a 77% increase in staff numbers, and several high profile cases, all in the midst of a global pandemic.

Speaking after picking up the award last night, Joint Managing Partner Greg Whyte said “This award is for the team, especially those that came over from McClures against a background of their administration which were exceptionally hard and stressful circumstances”

“This has been a year like no other. One that has been at times challenging as we continued with our ambitious growth plan despite the pandemic.

Speaking about the award ceremony Ross Jones, Joint Managing Partner, added “It was heartening to see and hear first-hand so many success stories emerging from the Scottish legal profession during what has been a very tough year. We were against some incredibly stiff competition and I commend each and every one of them for the way they have adapted and thrived.”
