Katie Peoples

Katie is an Associate within the Dispute Resolution team. Katie has experience in a wide range of practice areas, including: commercial disputes, professional negligence, executry disputes, debt recovery, property disputes and defended personal injury actions.

Katie has experience of complex and high value cases in both the Sheriff Court and Court of Session. However, Katie recognises that resolving disputes out of court is often the most efficient and cost effective route. She always considers the financial and commercial considerations for clients when advising on a case. Katie has a proven track record in settling cases without the need for court action, with extensive experience of negotiation and mediation.

Katie always takes time to understand client aims and thinks strategically about a case as a whole, in order to achieve successful outcomes. She also understands the emotional impact cases can have on those involved, and helps clients through the process with sensitivity. She keeps clients informed at all stages, and communicates legal issues and options clearly.

Katie has taught on the Access to Law course at the University of Glasgow. Katie is a member of the University of Glasgow Law and Philosophy Network.
