Douglas Cummings

Douglas started his traineeship at Jones Whyte in September 2023 and is currently working within the Group Claims department. He attended the University of Strathclyde for his LLB and the University of Glasgow for his Diploma in PLP. He previously worked at a busy conveyancing firm in Glasgow as a legal assistant during his studies. He has an interest in a number of areas of law with his current role providing him with experience in litigation.

This department has allowed Douglas to be a part of an area of law which hones his interests developed at university in dealing with client’s legal issues. He has been able to assist clients in smaller litigation claims whilst also working in larger group claims. This versatility has given him the confidence to act in different litigation actions in Scotland.

“The most rewarding part of my role is learning about legislation at a Scottish, UK and international level to assist our clients’ claims to pursue a favourable outcome. I enjoy acquiring a knowledge of the diverse legal infrastructure in different industries and how they are relevant to litigation claims that I am involved in.”
