Jones Whyte Crowned Firm of the Year at Herald Law Awards of Scotland 2021

Scotland’s fastest growing law firm, Jones Whyte, has been named Law Firm of the Year Scottish Independents at the 2021 Herald Law Awards of Scotland. Last night’s announcement now means that the firm has claimed top spot at each of Scotland’s most prestigious legal awards in what has been a remarkable year for the young firm.

The prestigious awards seek to focus attention on the excellent quality of work being undertaken by Scotland’s most respected lawyers and law firms. They recognise and reward the best in-house teams, individuals, law firms and suppliers across Scotland and are judged by an independent panel of industry experts.

Founding Partners Greg Whyte & Ross Jones will collect the award on behalf of the firm at the winner’s ceremony in Glasgow on Thursday 25th November.

This award adds to what has been an eventful year for the firm which has included the acquisition of McClure Solicitors (one of Scotland’s oldest law firms), through which over 100 jobs were saved, a 77% increase in staff numbers, several high profile cases and the firm’s first major industry award, all in the midst of a global pandemic.

Speaking after being announced as winners last night, Joint Managing Partner Ross Jones said “I said it the last time and I’ll say it once again, this award is for the team, especially those that came over from McClures against a background of their administration which were exceptionally hard and stressful circumstances.

To win one award under those circumstances was fantastic, but to pick up this second one and complete the clean sweep is phenomenal and really underlines just how good a team we have here.

This has been a year like no other. One that has been at times challenging as we continued with our ambitious growth plan despite the pandemic. This award will help drive the firm on towards further growth. Growth which we aim to underpin with high value service to our clients”
