Happy Family who have been granted Visas

Our immigration services in Birmingham

Our immigration team handles a diverse range of matters for individuals, families and Birmingham businesses. As experienced Birmingham immigration lawyers, we help you choose the right route and build a complete, well-evidenced UK immigration application, from the application forms themselves to the supporting package of evidence behind them.

  • Work and Skilled Worker visas. Employment routes for professionals moving to the region, including Skilled Worker visa applications, which use a points-based system requiring 70 points based on criteria such as a job offer, skill level and salary. The Skilled Worker visa replaced the old Tier 2 (General) visa. We check that a job offer, role and salary meet the current requirements, and support West Midlands employers with sponsor licence applications and ongoing compliance.

  • Student and visitor visas. Guidance for students taking up places at Birmingham’s universities and colleges, together with their dependants, on the Student visa route, which is open to those aged 16 or over. We also prepare Standard Visitor visa applications for visiting family, tourism or business meetings..

  • Spouse, partner and family visas. Spouse visa applications and wider family routes, including civil partners, unmarried partners and children under 18 joining a partner or parent in the UK. A spouse visa is usually granted for an initial 30 months before extension, and each spouse visa application is prepared with the financial evidence and detail the rules demand.

  • Settlement, Indefinite Leave to Remain and permanent residence. ILR applications once you meet the qualifying period, most commonly five years in the UK, giving you permanent residence and the right to remain without immigration restrictions. We review your ILR application and evidence well before you submit.

  • British citizenship. Naturalisation and registration to become a British citizen, usually possible a year after settlement, including a check that you meet the requirements before you spend anything on the application.

  • Asylum and human rights. Representation in asylum law and human rights cases, handled sensitively, including urgent matters involving detention or a looming deadline.

  • Appeals and administrative review. Administrative review, appeals to the First-tier and Upper Tribunal, and complex cases where a Home Office decision needs to be challenged.

How we help immigration clients in Birmingham

Our offices are in Glasgow and Edinburgh, but that makes no practical difference to a Birmingham case. Immigration law is set by the UK Government and is the same in every part of the country, so what counts is getting the right adviser rather than a nearby one. The parts that actually decide an application, route selection, evidence and how the case is put to the Home Office, work exactly the same over phone, video and email as they would across a desk.
